Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 September 2026

Screen Recorder records your screen, your face and your voice, and edits the videos that come out of it. All of that happens on your iPhone or iPad, and your videos stay there. This policy explains exactly what that means, and what little information reaches anyone else.

1. We have no account for you

There is no sign-in in Screen Recorder, and no profile on our side. We do not ask for and do not receive your name, email address, phone number or contacts. We do not use advertising or tracking identifiers, and the app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs.

2. Your videos stay on your device

Everything you make with the app is processed and stored locally, in the app's own storage on your device. That includes:

None of it is uploaded to us. We never see your recordings, because there is no server of ours for them to be sent to. A video leaves the app only when you save it to Photos or share it yourself, and then it goes exactly where you chose. Deleting a recording in the app removes it; deleting the app removes all of them.

3. Recording your screen

Screen recording uses Apple's system broadcast feature. iOS calls it a broadcast, but nothing is streamed anywhere: the recording is written straight to your device and handed to the app when you stop.

While it is running, the recording captures everything shown on your screen, including notifications, messages and anything you type that is not hidden by the system. iOS shows a red indicator for as long as recording is on — stop it before opening anything you would not want in the video. Whether your microphone is recorded as well is the toggle in the iOS recording panel, and you control it every time.

4. Permissions the app asks for

To pick a video to edit, the app uses the iOS photo picker and the Files browser, which need no permission: the app receives only the one video you chose, works on a temporary copy, and deletes that copy when you are done.

Every permission can be refused or withdrawn in iOS Settings. The parts of the app that do not depend on a refused permission keep working.

5. Purchases

Subscriptions are sold and charged by Apple through the App Store. Your payment details never reach us: we do not see or store card numbers, billing addresses or Apple ID information.

To know whether your subscription is active, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management provider. It receives a random identifier created on your device at first launch and the purchase information Apple issues for it. That identifier is a random string; it carries no name, email or device details, and it is not linked to anything else about you. It is stored in your device keychain so that reinstalling the app keeps a subscription you already paid for — which also means it survives deleting the app.

The number of free uses you have left is counted the same way, in the keychain on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else.

6. Who else receives data

That is the complete list. We do not sell, rent or share information with anyone for advertising, analytics or profiling, and we do not build a profile of you.

7. When you write to us

The contact form on this site and the support screen in the app both deliver your message to our internal team chat, where we read it and decide what to do about it.

What travels with the message is what you typed, plus an email address if you chose to leave one — it is optional, and we use it for nothing but replying to you. A message sent from the app also carries the random install identifier described above, so that a report can be matched to the subscription it concerns, and the app version, iOS version and device type (for example, “iPhone”), because recording problems are usually specific to them. Writing to us is entirely optional and is not needed to use the app.

8. Children

Screen Recorder is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since we collect no personal information from anyone, there is no children's data on our side.

9. Your rights and choices

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing on our side to request access to, correct, export or delete. In practice:

10. Security

Traffic between the app and the services above is encrypted in transit. The stronger protection, though, is that your recordings never leave your device unless you send them somewhere yourself: data that is never collected cannot be exposed.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date at the top. As we have no email address for you, this page is the only place we can announce changes — please check back occasionally. Continuing to use Screen Recorder after an update means you accept the revised policy.

12. Contact

Questions about privacy? Write to us through the contact form, or from Settings → Support in the app.
